ELOPEMENT VS MICRO WEDDING

Our modern Bride and Groom Mr and Mrs Little didn’t want an ordinary wedding. They wanted to runaway to somewhere in Europe and to have a secret elopement, but when their close friends and family heard what they were planning to do, they said no way, we are coming too! And that’s what happened, they flew from Australia to the south of Spain with 20 guests in tow, completely But, completely oblivious to the adventure that they were about to embark on…

AN UNCONVENTIONAL WEDDING APPROACH

Our alternative couples don’t care for traditions, they focus on what’s important to them. In Laura and Zach’s case it was exploring the world, culture, travel, hearty local food, nature, down to earth experiences, music festivals, dancing barefoot under the stars, drinking mojitos in the sun, poolside lounging with their tribe and their deep effortless love for the other.

An informal celebration was what they were looking for, one that represented their lifestyles. That’s why they thought about having an elopement so they could stay true to their vision. They just never imagined a micro wedding would turn out to be so dreamy and are overwhelmed with happiness that their guests insisted on being part of their special day.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT VENUE

As soon as I met Laura and Zach we connected immediately and I was able to see easily that they wanted an easygoing experience, seclusion, fun-loving vibes and a natural flow. The venue, a beautiful hidden gem in a forest in Andalusia reflected their needs and wants and was ideal as the whole wedding party could stay onsite over the three days.

INTIMATE WEDDING MYTHS

Some couples are put off intimate weddings because they feel like the ambience may lack the celebratory feel and that they won’t be able to party like you would at a bigger wedding. But as you can see from Laura and Zach’s cosy affair, that can’t be furthest from the truth. All you need at your wedding is the people who love and care about you and the rest will unfold naturally.

It can also be thought that the ceremony doesn’t have the same importance as a larger wedding. I believe it has even more, because intimate weddings are down to earth and the place where authentic soulful moments occur.

It is thought that intimate weddings are cheap. Well, they are more economical due to their being less diners and less decor & rentals, but a smaller wedding still needs the all the essential suppliers that a larger wedding needs. At Open the Door we don’t work less because the guest size is smaller, in fact we focus on the details even more to ensure that single table in the woodland setting takes everyones breath away…
